GYEON vs ONYX

We are certified for both, which means we have no reason to push one over the other. Here is how we actually choose between them.

GYEON and ONYX are both professional-only coating systems — they are not sold over the counter, and applicators have to be trained and certified to buy and warrant them. That alone puts them in a different category to retail ‘ceramic’ sprays.

How they differ in practice

  • GYEON — exceptional optical clarity and a very sharp, glassy finish; a favourite on dark and metallic paint
  • ONYX — the 10H graphene system we reach for on daily drivers, utes and anything living outdoors
  • Both are professional-only and both carry a manufacturer-backed warranty
  • Both require certified application and a controlled cure to be warrantable

How we choose

If the car is garaged and the owner cares most about how it looks in the sun, we generally go GYEON. If the car lives outdoors, covers big kilometres, or works for a living, we generally go ONYX 10H graphene for the durability. On a lot of cars either would be a good answer, and we will say so rather than invent a difference.

What does not change between them is the preparation. The coating is the last ten percent of the job; the decontamination and correction underneath is the rest.
