From swirl removal to a multi-year graphene coating, Glen Iris cars are looked after two ways: mobile, at your place, or at our Berwick studio roughly 32 km up the road.
Most of what comes to us from Glen Iris is a late-model prestige car with dealer-installed swirl marks. Showroom washes, hand-car-wash queues and a quick polish before delivery leave fine marring and buffer trails that only show outside - and they are there on cars with delivery kilometres.
Every Glen Iris booking is handled by Andy himself — owner-operated, 30+ years on paint, and the same standard for a daily driver, a work ute or a weekend car. Tell us the car and what is bothering you and you will get a straight answer.
Around Burwood station, Gardiner station and Glen Iris station.
The weekly hand wash at a busy car wash uses the same mitts and towels on every car in the queue. It is the most common source of swirls on otherwise immaculate cars.
Gloss-black pillars, grilles and interior trim scratch if you look at them. They can be refined and coated along with the paint.
Matte and satin paint cannot be machine-polished - polishing makes it glossy and cannot be undone. Tell us before you book so the car is handled correctly from the first wash.
Many cars here already carry film on the front end. Film and coating work well together, and a coating over the film makes it easier to keep clean.
Paint depth readings and a close look under the lights before anything touches the car.
A full wash, then chemical and clay decontamination to strip out what washing leaves behind.
Correction matched to your paint - gentler on soft clear coats, more passes on hard ones.
The coating goes on panel by panel and cures under cover before the car goes back on the road.
Andy works mobile in Glen Iris and from the Berwick studio, which is about 32 km from you, so it is your choice. A garaged home suits a mobile visit well. For a multi-stage correction, where controlled lighting shows every last mark, the studio is the better room to work in. Either way it is the same person, the same products and the same registered warranty.
Yes. The coating goes over the film as well as the paint. It adds chemical resistance the film lacks and makes the whole car easier to wash.
We can wash and protect it correctly, but matte paint cannot be polished, so scratches cannot be corrected the way they can on gloss. Mention it when you book so there are no surprises.
Yes. If the clear coat is thin from previous polishing, or the defects are too deep to remove safely, you will hear that before any work starts.
