From swirl removal to a multi-year graphene coating, Kooyong cars are looked after two ways: mobile, at your place, or at our Berwick studio roughly 35 km up the road.
Kooyong has one of the highest concentrations of European and performance cars in Melbourne, and owners who look at their paint in direct sun. That is the standard we work to: measured, multi-stage correction, and a coating chosen for how the finish reads, not just how long it lasts.
There is no sales team and no subcontracting. Andy assesses, corrects and coats every car from Kooyong himself, with more than thirty years on paint behind him, and will tell you honestly if a job is not worth doing.
Around Kooyong station and Kooyong Gardens.
Cars that do few kilometres still oxidise and gather dust marks from covers and wipe-downs. They are ideal candidates for a multi-year system because the paint under them is so good.
BMW, Mercedes, Audi and Porsche paint is hard. It resists marring well, but it takes more passes and the right compound to correct, which is where a rushed job gives itself away.
Lexus, Mazda and Tesla finishes are the opposite - they correct easily and mark easily, so they are polished gently and benefit most from a hard coating on top.
A new prestige car is often washed and quick-polished several times before handover. The holograms that leaves are correctable, and it is worth doing before anything is sealed over them.
Paint depth readings and a close look under the lights before anything touches the car.
A full wash, then chemical and clay decontamination to strip out what washing leaves behind.
Correction matched to your paint - gentler on soft clear coats, more passes on hard ones.
The coating goes on panel by panel and cures under cover before the car goes back on the road.
Andy works mobile in Kooyong and from the Berwick studio, which is about 35 km from you, so it is your choice. A garaged home suits a mobile visit well. For a multi-stage correction, where controlled lighting shows every last mark, the studio is the better room to work in. Either way it is the same person, the same products and the same registered warranty.
Yes. The coating goes over the film as well as the paint. It adds chemical resistance the film lacks and makes the whole car easier to wash.
We can wash and protect it correctly, but matte paint cannot be polished, so scratches cannot be corrected the way they can on gloss. Mention it when you book so there are no surprises.
Yes. If the clear coat is thin from previous polishing, or the defects are too deep to remove safely, you will hear that before any work starts.
