Ceramic coating, paint correction and paint protection for The Basin 3154 — mobile, at your home or workplace, or at our Berwick studio about 21 km away.
The hills are beautiful and hard on paint. In The Basin a car spends most of its life in the shade of big trees, rarely fully dries after rain, and collects sap, moss and debris faster than almost anywhere else we service.
There is no sales team and no subcontracting. Andy assesses, corrects and coats every car from The Basin himself, with more than thirty years on paint behind him, and will tell you honestly if a job is not worth doing.
Around Wicks Reserve.
Falling bark and small branches scratch roofs and bonnets, and dropped debris in the cowl blocks drains.
Mountain roads throw up grit and leaf debris into sills and wheels, and tight corners mean a lot of kerbed rims.
The Ranges are full of birds, which means frequent droppings on cars parked under trees. Coated paint lets you remove them before they etch.
Fog and damp leave a film on the windscreen that makes wet-weather and night driving harder. Coated glass stays clearer and sheds water.
Paint depth readings and a close look under the lights before anything touches the car.
A full wash, then chemical and clay decontamination to strip out what washing leaves behind.
Correction matched to your paint - gentler on soft clear coats, more passes on hard ones.
The coating goes on panel by panel and cures under cover before the car goes back on the road.
Andy is mobile as well as studio-based, so the work can be done at your place in The Basin or at the Berwick studio, about 21 km away. In the hills it is the damp and the tree canopy. A coating cannot cure under dripping trees, so a mobile job needs a garage or a good carport - otherwise the studio keeps it dry. Tell us where the car is kept when you book and you will get a straight answer on which suits the job.
It will not stop sap landing, but it stops it bonding. On sealed paint you can lift sap off safely instead of finding an etched ring days later. Existing rings are polished out first.
Usually. Tannin staining responds well to decontamination and a polish, and a coating makes it much harder for new stains to set.
We clean seals and door shuts as part of a proper detail, and treating the rubbers helps stop it coming back.
